How to Personalize a Teddy Bear

There are many easy and inexpensive ways to personalize a teddy bear. You can use a variety of materials, most of which you probably already have around your house, and the rest is cheap and easy to acquire. Follow these steps to make the process of decorating and personalizing your teddy bear fun, entertaining and creative.

1. First: Select a teddy bear

   Choose a teddy bear that is not already adorned with multiple decorations. It also helps if the teddy bear is of a fabric that is easy to write or draw on with markers. Try to find colors that are light if you plan on decorating your bear with markers. If the bear is furry, consider making or purchasing doll clothing to personalize.

2. Second: Prepare your supplies

   Gather all of the supplies needed to personalize your teddy bear. This may include markers, yarn or other material, fabric paint, buttons, pins or anything else you can imagine. There is no limit to the number of things you can use to decorate your teddy bear. Remember to have paper towels and cleaning supplies on hand or nearby, in case of spills or other messes.

Fabric and buttons make a fashionable and trendy coat for your fuzzy friend. Use pipe cleaners to craft glasses, or make a monocle and a felt top-hat to give your teddy bear an ultra-sophisticated look.
